Genetic Vaccines and Therapy is ready to receive manuscripts on all aspects of gene-based therapies for the prevention and control of disease. Genetic Vaccines and Therapy is an Open Access, peer-reviewed, online journal dedicated to applying new knowledge about genetics in treating human disease. It is aimed at researchers, clinicians and biotechnologists, worldwide, in the field of gene-based therapy and drug delivery.
The field of genetic therapy is just beginning to see an increase in interest and applicability in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology community, and we have positioned this journal to meet the needs of workers in this new and highly promising area.

Editors' profile
Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Shyam S. Mohapatra
"Prof. Shyam S. Mohapatra, PhD is currently the Vice Chair of Medicine, and Director of the Nanomedicine Research Center-Division of Translational Medicine at the University of South Florida. His Lab has developed specific expertise in designing viral and non-viral vectors for gene transfer and delivering genes by novel methods into mammalian cells in vitro and in vivo. He has been developing targeted gene/drug therapy using polymeric nanoparticles for viral infections (RSV, HIV), cancers and Traumatic Brain Injury. For his work, he was awarded the outstanding biotech achievement award, and Sigma Xi 2004-05 Outstanding Faculty Researcher Award, Tampa Bay. His research is funded by NIH, Office of Naval Research, VA Merit Review, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, Florida Biomedical Research Foundation and he has served as a member of review panels of many national and international granting agencies including NIH."
Managing Editor: Dr Gary Hellermann
"Dr Gary Hellermann is a senior biological scientist at the University of South Florida College of Medicine (USA). His research is focused on new therapies for asthma, viral diseases and cancer. His chief specialty is his ability to comb the scientific literature for the most interesting, relevant and thought provoking research findings. Along with teaching a graduate course in Research Methods in Immunology he has written many papers that were published in peer-reviewed journals and grant proposals that were funded by the American Heart Association and NIH. He takes pride in working with the authors, particularly those who are non-native English speakers, to give to their writing that clarity and interest that often gets lost in the technical jargon."
